Bihar Foundation Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and dignity at Punjab Lok Bhawan, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the state. The event reflected the spirit of unity and diversity.
The समारोह was graced by the Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, Gulab Chand Kataria, who attended along with his wife Anita Kataria.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Kataria extended his शुभकामनाएं to the people of Bihar and highlighted the state’s rich historical, cultural, and intellectual legacy.
He expressed hope for Bihar’s continued progress, unity, and prosperity, emphasizing its vital role in India’s overall development.
The event was organized under the theme of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,” aiming to strengthen national integration by celebrating cultural diversity across states.
Various cultural performances depicting Bihar’s traditions were presented during the event. Folk dances such as Jhijhiya, Jat-Jatin, and Chhath Puja performances captivated the audience.
These performances were organized by the North Zone Cultural Centre, offering a vibrant glimpse into Bihar’s traditional art forms and cultural richness.
A video message from the Governor of Bihar and a documentary highlighting the state’s heritage were also screened during the कार्यक्रम.
In his speech, Kataria noted that celebrating foundation days of different states promotes cultural exchange and strengthens national unity.
He also emphasized Bihar’s contributions in the fields of education, philosophy, governance, and social thought, describing it as a land of great historical significance.
Highlighting the spiritual connection between Bihar and Punjab, he mentioned Takht Sri Patna Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, as a symbol of shared heritage.
The Governor urged citizens to maintain social harmony and work collectively towards building a strong and developed nation.
Several dignitaries, including Additional Solicitor General of India Satya Pal Jain and senior officials from Punjab and Chandigarh administrations, were present at the event.
